Geneva Farrow - DREAM Chaser
GENEVA FARROW was born in Brooklyn NY to a teen mother and raised by her grandparents who did their best to give her a stable upbringing. Despite these obstacles in her childhood Geneva excelled socially and academically leaving Brooklyn for Temple University in the Fall of 1998 ready to pursue her dreams. She met another challenge when she became pregnant in the fall of her sophomore year at Temple. This did not deter her and she continued to pursue her education defying yet another odd! Geneva graduated on time with her classmates in 2002 despite being a young single mom.
After graduation Geneva immediately took a job in pharmaceutical sales. She spent the next 10 yrs of her career in sales and marketing. In December 2007, she felt the need to motivate other young moms leading her to start a 501c3 non profit organization A Young Mother’s DREAM. Her passion to inspire young mothers is evident to everyone leading her to be nominated as an NV Magazine 2011 Mover and Shaker. Geneva truly embodies the title and continues to open new doors daily. She helped author the book "A Young Mother’s DREAM ..I DEFY the Odds", scheduled for release in the Spring of 2012. The book will inspire young mothers to DEFY the Odds the same way Geneva and the other contributing authors have done.
Geneva hosts the No Girl Left Behind Radio Show, a “girl talk” radio show focusing on the issues that teen girls are facing daily. The goal of the show is to help teens make better choices. With teen co-hosts on board Geneva is able to keep her finger on the pulse of the issues they face.
Geneva speaks to people about “Defying the Odds”. Her speech “The Remix” helps young people to change all of the negative statements that replay in their mind into positive mantras that will propel them towards success. She also speaks to young and single mothers on a regular basis hoping to inspire them to Defy the Odds as well.
Geneva enjoys speaking to young people, but is also a sought after speaker for adults looking to create a strategy for chasing their DREAMs. Her DREAM Chaser workshop is effective in helping attendees set a clear plan of ACTION to help them get to the finish line.
